"The style guide is really helpful and the business card looks great." Clare Harvey-Fitzgerald, HFITZ Landscapes
Creating a strong visual brand identity for your business is essential. You need to look professional to be considered professional. To achieve this, your visual communications have to be consistent. Everything speaks. Your logo, business card, stationery, brochures, adverts, signage, web graphics... they all tell the story of your brand.
When you're a small business, the cost of employing a graphic designer or design company every time you need a new piece of advertising collateral can be unaffordable. As a result invoice headers tend to be done by the office staff, business cards get ordered from the printer around the corner and adverts are created by the publication in which they appear. Every one adapts your logo and uses whatever font they have on hand. This is not a good look for your brand!
My solution is to equip my clients with a style guide. Together we work through the design processes to develop (or tidy up) their visual branding. Once everything has been approved I create finished artwork which I collate into a document, along with colour and font specs, and format it as a print-ready pdf. This enables you to provide suppliers with the required files for almost every application.
