Eco shopping bags that are truly eco
The Inspiration |
The Why
With a cupboard full of eco bags and the best intentions in the world, we still regularly manage to arrive at the supermarket checkout without them. So, being kinda arty, we thought: What if we make some eco bags that are so designery and fun we'll never forget to take them shopping? And being kinda green, we thought: Let's make them genuinely eco while we're at it! Because so many eco bags are actually less environmentally-friendly than single-use plastic bags. Take Me Shopping Eco Art Bags are the result. Convenient, useful, guilt-free shopping. |

What & How
Take-me-shopping bags are: ~ Unforgettable: They shout out: Take me shopping! ~ Truly Eco: Many eco bags aren’t! See more at Good Design ~ Robust: They won’t split open and spill your stuff, and they're washable if stuff gets spilled on them. ~ Convenient and Versatile: Small enough to fold away in your bag, glove compartment or jacket pocket; yet designery enough to use as a bag in its own right. ~ Handmade and Printed in NZ: If your eco bag comes all the way from China, we have to ask: How is that eco? |
For your pot plants: upcycled, hand-painted bucket planters
My art studio got converted into a hot house during lockdown when we got caught up in veggie-growing mania. As it wasn't possible to buy planters, we recycled old paint buckets we had lying around. They didn't look very beautiful so I set to work decorating them.

Lockdown bear prints & palette wood frames
Inspired by the teddy bears that appeared on and around letterboxes in Auckland suburbs during lockdown level 4.
My own bears were too precious (to me) to be left outdoors so I elected to draw them instead. As framing wasn't considered an essential service, we used wood from a couple of old palettes we had under the house and the tools we had on hand. We love the rustic look. Each frame is unique.
